Understanding the Vultracide Heavy Industries VCD/UAC Test Reactor
"Getting the friggin' maximum out of Doom's engine!"

Welcome!

The VCD/UAC test reactor was built to gain knowledge about technology able to create portals to another dimension. (Probably the so called "hell", but unconfirmed.) It's structure is able to automatically seperate incoming monsters for later tests or release. (VCD's official opponents say the separating technique is not well engineered enough. VCD officially disclaims this assertion.) It is equipped with a vertical and horizontal exhaust system to release monsters or to reduce the monster fill level inside the reactor. This can contaminate the environment with monsters from hell. In this case the village people east of the reactor may have to suffer from the reactor's pollution. Enemies of this reactor say it was only built to provide monsters to a planned stadium north of the village. VCD officially disclaims this theory.

The following text describes the jobs inside the VCD/UAC monster testreactor and it's correct operation.

1. Fenced reactor compound from the east when coming from the village road. Direct view on the dark metal horizontal exhaust system. East reactor operation team tower with it's windows.
2. Northeast view on the compound's backyard holding reactor waste in specially designed a safe area. Vertical Exhaust system. (Light metal tube at 30/30 of 100/100 in the picture.)
3. Southeast view on the compound. Visible is the main road for mass transportation and vehicles bringing manpower, equipment and more to the compound.

1. South of the compound: The security tower and outer gateways; the big digital VCD commercial.
2. The open foot gate and the two closed vehicle gates.

GENERAL INFORMATION
CLASSIFIED VCD DOCUMENTS

Read carefully.

BASIC STAFF SAFETY RULES
  1. If you want to go through a keycard door, first check if unauthorized persons are around. Enter only, if there is no risk that unauthorized persons may pass through an open door.
  2. Always close keycard doors immediately after you have passed them!
  3. Do not produce unnecessary noise inside the reactor (Using weapons) and keep all team section doors closed! Noncompliance may unintendedly initiate the reactor core process!
  4. Security doors: When hitting an object while closing, switch controlled doors will continue to close after object disappears.

SAFETY CONCEPT

MAIN HALL / VISITOR HALL AND ELEVATOR

1. Main hall / visitor hall with refreshing drinks and easy, positive and friendly commercial illustrations and digital media. Elevator door and the window from the controller's office.
2. Reactor main elevator shaft leading to the different specific reactor team sections of the building.

PLANT CONTROLLER
RED KEYCARD

The site controller establishes initial order on site, assigns new team members and supports all teams on site.

GENERAL TASKS
  1. Gain control of the reactor compound!
  2. Control which employee obtains a keycard / joins which reactor team.
  3. Perform work for both the reactor security and the reactor operation team.
  4. Only the controller is able to directly enter the outer reactor core section!

CONTROLLER'S OFFICE

1. Free look inside the elevator shaft from the main corridor of the controller's office.
2. The controller's office: Chair, desk, monitor, inside window to the main hall, window to south side (street) of the reactor.
3. The controller's private room directly under the main reactor control room: Bookshelves, first aid and ammuniton for hand out to employees and emergencies, the red key card secured save holding all other key cards.

ORDERS!

Instantly grab the red card at the farm house beginning and quickly run onto the plant site: The default unused plant is open to the first person to come in and the gate will quickly close directly after passing it. The controller can now establish order, get all security cards and begin to let potential employees or visitors on site.

REACTOR SECURITY TEAM
BLUE KEYCARD

The reactor security team maintains safety and order inside and around the reactor compound.

GENERAL TASKS
  1. At least one team member must constantly view the first security tier: It will open when the reator operation team calls in after an accident or for analysis inside the reactor hall.
  2. Control the flow of persons to the following locations:
  3. Defend the reactor compound against any dangers from outside and in. (Enemies of this reactor say the reactor security would not be able to protect the reactor in an emergency due to insufficient equipment. VCD officially disclaims this theory.)
  4. Recon and fix problems inside the reactor, if necessary.
Note that no protective clothing is necessary inside the reactor. However, weapons could be of use when walking inside the separating system, the demon cells or towards the reactor core.
All places with a high potential danger zone in case of any danger are designed with shooting slit style windows.

OUTSIDE GUARD HOUSE / SECURITY TOWER

1. Guard house entrance.
2. First floor with foot gate control panel and wide outside view.
3. Second floor with shotgun site protective weapon storage.
4. Second floor first aid.
5. Second floor spherical turret balcony with vehicle gate control panel.

INSIDE GUARD HOUSE

Designed with big red quick buttons to quickly limit access to hall and elevator.

1. Main security corridor with hall control room door on the left and entrance to the ready room far ahead stairs up.
2. Hall security balcony with elevator reset switch.
3. Outside lookout position.

READY ROOM

1. Security tier 1 closed. Reator operation team opens it from their control rooms. No other entry possible.
2. Security tier 1 opened. This constitutes an emergency situation!
3. Look outside the ready room.
4. Equipment storage room.
5. Gateway corridor between ready room at the front and reactor hall to the right.
6. Security tier 2 opened: The security team's only connection to the reactor hall.

REACTOR ENTRY POINTS

Use extreme caution when entering the reactor!

1. Exhaust system control point protective wall.
2. Direct view inside the exhaust chamber.

1.
2.

ORDERS!

Sit around in the ready room and enter the reactor hall when called out for an emergency situation. Keep an eye on the fenced site area and the gates by the security tower.

REACTOR OPERATION TEAM
YELLOW KEYCARD

The reactor operation team conducts and controls the core functions that happen inside the reactor hall from the main and other control rooms.

GENERAL TASKS
  1. Turn the reactor on/off. (Enemies of this reactor say the reactor cannot be turned off. VCD officially disclaims this theory.)
  2. Control the inner reactor.
  3. Control the horizontal and vertical exhaust systems.
  4. Provide the reactor security team entrance to the reactor hall and inner reactor, if necessary.

Have a look at the various complex reactor control and sensor units:

MAIN RACTOR OPERATION CORRIDOR

1. Main reactor operation corridor junction with reactor hall first aid unit.
2. Elevator door and reactor operation main first aid unit.
3. Closed door to main reactor control room and glimpse inside the reactor hall control section balcony.
4. View heading southwest outside the outside exhaust control tower.

MAIN REACTOR CONTROL ROOM

1. Glimpse inside the main reactor control room.
2. Sound control panel, core control panel, main reactor core door control panel.
3. Cell section entry sensor panel: {F} 2=({A, I, D}R) {H} {M} {TJL}
